Warrenton, OR Warrenton, OR Full-time Full-time $53,000 - $60,000 a year $53,000 - $60,000 a year MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK SALARY RANGE IS $53,000 / $60,000 The Accounting Specialist role provides quality communication between Warrenton Plant's FP&A and operations regarding financial control procedures, cost saving measures, financial targets, and financial performance.
Provides analysis and reporting for the plant's operations, businesses and product lines, and communicates progress against targets to GSE managers.
Provides support for costing of manufactured products and sales of finished goods.
Month-end closing tasks will include intercompany reconciliation, account reconciliations, accruals, and aging analysis.
Works effectively with all levels of organization as a proactive problem solver.
Proactively assists the GSE business to improve its overall business performance.
Responsibilities Assist the Plant's Finance Manager/Controller in financial target setting, reports and controls Responsible in assisting/primary back-up of the Finance Manager for Internal Corporate financial reporting and business analysis; and in the preparation and coordination of the Global GSE budget and forecasts Support GSE in reaching financial KPIs and strategic objective Assist in the month end, quarter end and the year-end close process Provide support for costing of manufactured products Coordinate with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts Develop tools and techniques to analyze financial statements and identify potential issues Review and reconcile material inventory accounts; Prepare and record inventory adjustments Analyze complex financial scenarios to provide detailed insight into business drivers and potential value creation opportunities Analyze financial data to identify potential risk/opportunities and present findings to senior management Ensure compliance on SOX controls, statutory policies, and JBT Financial Standards Develop and implement ongoing process improvement in accounting Perform and review account reconciliations Collects data for yearly Operations Review, Budget and Mid-Year Forecast and other reviews as per Controller's request Work with external and internal auditors to answer questions and provide documentation Work with Warrenton key managers to answer questions related to budgets and departmental variances Participate in task force teams to address procedural and control issues in the Warrenton Plant Participate as necessary to ensure company remains SOX compliant Produce ad hoc analyses and report for site, group and corporate management as requested Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with a good working knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, basic accounting principles 1-2 years of FP&A experience High level of expertise with financial analysis tools including spreadsheets, databases and wordprocessing software Knowledge of use of financial/valuation metrics, valuation principles, forecasting and accountingprinciples Understanding of ERP Systems and Relational Databases Additional Training:
Project Mgt, SOX, GAAP, IFRS, ASC606, and ASC842 Specialized Knowledge, Equipment, and Applications:
Tableau, SQL, SYSPRO, Statistical tools, database management.
